FIRST EDITION. Weddell travelled for five years in Peru, Paraguay and Bolivia, identifying fifteen different species of "fever-bark," from which quinine is obtained. He brought back specimens for the Jardin des Plantes, from which chinchona forests were established in the East Indies. Nissen BBI 2123.
